Thanksgiving
2014
In terms of bicycling, I’m grateful
for/to/that:
• another year without a crash
• only one flat tire this year
• the local riding scene and its
daily options for group rides with dozens of fellow-riders
• readers of PotD
• my sister and brother-in-law, riders
who embody the best aspects of non-flashy long-distance cycle-touring, for the Shimano
PD-A530s and the Brooks saddle cover and Brooks saddle lotion
• F.O., sales/mechanic at my LBS, for
adjusting, gratis, my headset in March
• two 32mm Grand Bois Cypress tires,
still in the package
• Bicycle
Quarterly
• quinoa
• St. Vincent’s song “Bicycle” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xESJ3L0rcSg)
• good health
• a great bicycle
• a sunny forecast for Thanksgiving
Day and weekend
• Divine Providence, the Oversoul,
Universal Mind, God—whatever one wishes to call the cosmic route to
Transcendence, glimpses and sensations of which we often experience while
riding our bicycles day in, night out . . .
